5 Ingredient Chocolate Banana Dip
Are you guys looking for snacks for your kids that are fun, on the healthier side and something you can also get excited about? I know I am!
I love dips like this Healthy Fruit Yogurt Dip and this Creamy Dill Greek Yogurt Dip.
Yes, Greek yogurt and dips just go together in my opinion.
Snack time is a favorite around my house and I try my hardest to give my kids options offer some sort of nutritional benefit and something new.
I find that they can pretty bored with the same old thing day after day. 5 Ingredient Chocolate Banana Dip to the rescue!
And the best thing? You can get your kids involved in this recipe which is a great way to get them excited about the foods they eat.
To make 5 Ingredient Chocolate Banana Dip you only need five simple ingredients: 1 ripe banana {mashed}, Nutella {or similar spread, they sell a Chocolate Almond Spread at Trader Joe’s that I also like using}, honey, Greek yogurt and shredded unsweetened coconut.
Serve this dip with fresh fruit like sliced bananas, apples and strawberries or something similar to a graham cracker.
As you will notice below this 5 Ingredient Chocolate Banana Dip is my first attempt at making a video. I have been wanting to do this for some time now, so I took the plunge and I am really excited about it.
I think it offers a chance for you guys to see how easy some of my recipes are and that anyone can do these at home, no matter what their cooking level.
There is no time like the present, right? I have a lot to learn when it comes to video but I am happy that my first one is behind me.
This video will show you just how simple this recipe is…it can literally be made in under 5 minutes. Hello simple snacking!
A few things with this dip. Feel free to customize to your liking and your kids tastes. If they aren’t into coconut, you can leave that out.
If your child has a nut allergy you can use sunflower butter and a little coco powder in place of Nutella. I know some people aren’t fans of Greek yogurt so feel free to whatever yogurt you like.
5 Ingredient Chocolate Banana Dip
5 Ingredient Chocolate Banana Dip is simple to make and a snack or dessert that kids and adults will love. Serve with fresh fruit like apples, strawberries, bananas or even graham crackers.
Ingredients
- 1 ripe banana, peeled, mashed
- 1/2 cup plain Greek Yogurt {or yogurt of your choice}
- 1/3 cup Nutella {or similar chocolate spread}
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1/4 cup shredded coconut, unsweetened
Instructions
- In a medium mixing bowl mash the ripe banana with the back of a fork. Add the Greek yogurt, nutella, honey and shredded coconut to the bowl and mix to combine.
- Serve with fruit like apples, strawberries and bananas or graham crackers.
Notes
This recipe makes 2 cups of dip. Serving size is 1/4 cup.
I have used nutella in this recipe but I have also tried other things like the Chocolate Almond Spread that Trader Joe's sells. All taste great.
You can use a variety of yogurts in this recipe. I like Greek yogurt because of the tangy flavor it adds to the dip.
Try adding 1 Tablespoon of chia seeds if your kids can handle the texture.
When I make this dip I leave it a little chunky with the bananas but if you like a smoother dip you will want to make sure you really mash the bananas until smooth or even use a blender to puree.
