Creamy Herb Vegetable Dip

Sharing is caring!

Creamy Herb Vegetable Dip is made with cottage cheese, fresh dill, parsley and green onions and a splash of lemon juice.  This is a good option for people that like to dip their vegetables in something without all the calories or guilt of some of the salad dressings out there.

Creamy Herb Dip

I am a dipper. Are you? My son Will is not and sometimes that makes me sad because I feel like he is missing out on things like hummus with pita, ketchup with fries, spicy mustard with pretzels and all those yummy dips that go with vegetables.

When I eat vegetables or salads I like to dip my veggies in something tasty.  This can be dangerous if you choose a high calorie salad dressing and sometimes you have no idea what ingredients are in it. Today’s Creamy Herb Vegetable Dip is a guilt-free dip for your vegetables or even pairs great with crackers or on bread.

Creamy Herb Dip

When my friends at REAL® Seal asked me to create a recipe featuring a dairy product I knew I wanted to share this Creamy Herb Vegetable Dip with you guys. It is one of my go-to easy dips I make for the cut up vegetables I like to munch on throughout the day. This dip is made with real dairy, not imitation.

When choosing my dairy I always look for the REAL® Seal to make sure that the product I am buying is a genuine dairy product, made with milk from cows on U.S. dairy farms, and meeting strict manufacturing requirements.

We are dairy lovers over at my house.  Whether it is yogurt, cottage cheese or milk I am always looking for ways to incorporate this nutritious ingredient into our diets.

Here are a few of the benefits of drinking low-fat milk:

One serving of low-fat milk contains 8 grams of protein.

One serving of low-fat milk contains 366 milligrams of potassium.

Low-fat milk provides 30% of the daily requirement of calcium.

Low-fat milk provides a healthy combination of essential vitamin and minerals.

Description

Creamy Herb Vegetable Dip is made with cottage cheese, fresh dill, parsley and green onions and a splash of lemon juice. This is a good option for people that like to dip their vegetables in something without all the calories or guilt of some salad dressing out there.

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 cup low-fat cottage cheese (look for the Real Seal)
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 Tablespoon finely chopped onion
  • 2 Tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients in a food processor and mix until smooth. Remove and put into a serving dish and chill for an hour.
  2. Garnish with fresh herbs (like dill and green onions) and serve with vegetables, crackers or bread.

Notes

When making this dip you can adjust the herbs to taste. Once you chill it give it another taste and you can always stir in more fresh herbs to your liking.

It is good! Definitely a different taste then most people are used to with a vegetable dip but with the herbs it tastes great. Definitely a healthy option which is nice.
