Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookies are a sweet and salty treat. These cookies are crunch on the outside and chewy on the inside to create the perfect combination.

  • 1 cup dark brown sugar, packed
  • 6 Tablespoons canola oil
  • 6 Tablespoons butter, softened
  • 2 Tablespoons honey
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups white whole wheat flour {or whole wheat flour}
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of table salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • Coarse sea salt {or fleur de sel}

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. In a mixer beat the brown sugar, canola oil and butter on medium speed until well blended. Add the honey, vanilla and eggs and continue to beat until well combined.
  3. In a large mixing bowl combine the flour, baking soda and table salt and stir until combined. Add the flour mixture to the sugar mixture and beat at low until almost combined.
  4. Add the chocolate chips and stir in until just combined.
  5. Using a teaspoon or cookie dough scoop drop cookie dough onto a cookie sheet. Sprinkle 1/8 teaspoon sea salt evenly over the batch of cookies and lightly press the salt into the cookies.

  7. Cool and enjoy!
