Top 5 Recipes of 2012

Sharing is caring!

Happy New Year! 2013 is here!

I hope everyone had a fun, safe holiday and you are starting the year off right.

I finally feel organized after a week in Cleveland for the holidays. Christmas was so much fun this year with my son! Watching a 16 month old open gifts was so cute, and seeing him play in snow for the first time (that he remembers) was hilarious!

Will's first time in the snow!

He may not look like it, but he actually loved playing in the snow!

Looking back at 2012 I am thankful for so many things. One thing in particular was starting A Cedar Spoon in August. I have always loved food, cooking and learning new things in the kitchen and this blog has really helped me get back into the swing of things after having a baby. When Will came into our lives things got crazy and cooking healthy meals fell to the back burner. We ate our more, which doesn’t always lead to healthier eating.

So..thanks to you–my readers, fellow bloggers, family and friends that have supported me on this journey. I hope to have many more years of cooking, learning and discovering new recipes with all of you.

Looking back over 2012 I took a few minutes to see which recipes were the most popular.

Here are the top 5:

#1 Baked Mac & Cheese with Panko Breadcrumbs I agree with all those that have viewed and made this recipe–it is delicious! Unfortunately for my waistline, I could eat homemade mac & cheese weekly!

#2 Crockpot Apple-Cinnamon Steel Cut Oatmeal Great recipe for a make-ahead breakfast! Nothing beats having a healthy meal waiting for you when you wake up.

#3 Crockpot Applesauce This fall was the first time I made applesauce in the crockpot and it was so easy. Perfect to have on hand for snacks and toddlers!

#4 White Pear & Apple Sangria Sangria is a great drink for all occasions…I fell in love with it when I studied abroad in Barcelona.  I plan to add a few more to the blog over 2013.

#5 Whole Wheat Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies I started using whole wheat flour in my baking this year and am on the bandwagon. These cookies are the classic oatmeal cookie!

Like I said before, thanks for following along as I begin my blogging journey and connecting with me on facebook, twitter, pinterest, instagram and google plus. It has been a fun experience so far, and has really pushed me to cook new things and constantly strive to bring healthy, whole foods into my family.

What recipes would you like to see in 2013? Please let me know in the comments section–I love trying new things so anything goes!

Have a wonderful night!

Thanks! I am so glad too. It has been fun to see your blog grow. I love all of your DIY Projects, which are obviously a big hit. I wish I had more time for DIY projects. Maybe I should make that one of my resolutions! :) Happy New Year.

It was my first time and I loved it! It makes enough for leftovers throughout the week so I had it ready for me and the little one, just needed to heat it up. It could be easily modified depending on what you want in it too!
