Ingredients
1/2of a pound of shishito pepperswashed and dried
1Tablespoonof oil {I like olive oilsesame or avocado oil}
Salt and pepper
1/2of a lemon juiced {optional}
Instructions
Wash and fully dry the shishito peppers before you cook them. You want to make sure they are dry so they blister correctly.
Next toss the peppers in olive oil, sesame oil or avocado oil. Sprinkle salt and pepper on them along with any additional spices you like.
Heat a large cast iron or non-stick skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
Transfer the shishito peppers to the hot skillet in a single layer and sauté, stirring and tossing occasionally, until peppers are beginning to char and soften which takes about 5-6 minutes.
They should slightly blister on each side which lets you know they are done.
Remove from the heat and place in a serving dish with extra salt and pepper and a squeeze of lemon juice.
