Good Morning!

I have been keeping a secret for the past 15 weeks…and it’s an exciting one!

Will at the beach

Yes, Will is going to be a big brother!

Our family of three will become a family of four in February! I am about 15 weeks now and feeling great! This is a relief because about 2 weeks ago that was not the case—I am lucky not to get morning sickness but one thing I do get in my first trimester is EXTREME exhaustion!! This time around it was compounded by the fact that the exact week I found out I was pregnant I also went from a nice 15 minute commute to work to a 45 minute or more commute to work. I also had weird food aversions throughout my first trimester—where basically nothing sounded good. Many nights I couldn’t even bring myself to step in the kitchen because cooking chicken or eating a salad made me nauseous.  Needless to say I am glad to be out of the first trimester and starting to feel back to myself!

You may have noticed over the past few months I haven’t been sharing as many recipes with you. It has been disappointing to have to take a step back from A Cedar Spoon but I had to focus on my pregnancy and just making it through a full day of work and commuting each day! I hope that I can ramp up my energy and get back in the kitchen (you might see a few more Italian dishes pop up on here in the coming months because this baby has a taste for Italian –can you blame him or her?!).

In other news–I am also excited that fall is around the corner and I can start whipping up all things pumpkins, apples and all things comfort!
