I married an ex-bartender which makes my happy hours that much happier!

And now that I am no longer pregnant I can enjoy a cocktail here and there.

When warm weather months roll around at my house our favorite thing to do is sit on our back porch and grill, sip a nice mason jar of sangria and watch Will run circles around our yard!

Amen to children that aren’t restrained to the four walls of my small house!

Strawberry Mango Margarita 2

Throughout my college years I was a waitress but never a bartender.

My cocktail making skills consist of things like cranberry & vodkas or pouring a margarita mix from Costco into a glass with a lime wedge and salt (don’t judge!).  But–I am turning over a new leaf and things are about to change!

I am getting bartending lessons from my husband in an attempt to learn how to mix up some yummy drinks for all of those summer guests I plan on having over.

A few times a month I am going to share a new cocktail, sangria, margarita or  other drink recipe that my husband creates & I learn to make–so stay tuned!

Strawberry Mango Margarita

Hopefully you guys will find a few drinks along the way that you like and can sip on this summer.

Today’s recipe for a Strawberry Mango Margarita makes a nice big pitcher that you can share with your friends on a warm summer day.

Margaritas have always been one of my favorite drinks, especially the fruity ones. 😉

Ingredients

  • 1 cup tequila
  • 1/2 cup strawberry schnapps
  • 2 cups ice
  • 2 mango, peeled, pit removed and sliced
  • 8 oz strawberries, stems removed
  • 1 cup margarita mix
  • 2 Limes, juiced
  • Salt, to garnish

Instructions

  • Blend the ice, tequila, schnapps, margarita mix and lime juice until smooth. Add the fruit and blend again until smooth. Pour into a large pitcher.
  • Garnish the rims of the glasses with salt or sugar and a slice of lime.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

  • If you have a small blender then you will need to blend this in batches.
  • I suggest blending the ice and liquid and then putting half aside and add half of the fruit and blend.
  • Then transfer the other part of the liquid and blend with the remaining fruit. Combine everything together in a large pitcher once done and stir.
