Watermelon Lemonade Slushy is the perfect summer drink to cool you off — sweet watermelon is pureed with fresh mint and lemonade and mixed with vodka (optional) to create a refreshing cocktail for happy hour, a party or relaxing in your backyard.
For the Fourth of July we decided that we need to create a summery cocktail to enjoy while watching the local parade. Watermelon Lemonade Slushy was the perfect drink and was so refreshing on a hot summer day. While this drink recipe has vodka in it you can easily omit that and create a slushy that the whole family can enjoy.
This recipe makes a pitcher which is perfect for a get together or party and you can easily put this drink together ahead of time and leave it in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve it.
I enjoy eating watermelon the traditional way but enjoy finding new ways to use it. Last sumer we started using watermelon in drinks which became a big hit. If you grow mint in your garden this is one way to put it to good use. I never complain about having too much of something but mint is one of those herbs that grows and grows like a weed so finding ways to use it is always a plus.
