AIR FRYER PORK TAQUITOS
Today the Ohio Pork Council and I are teaming up to share these Air Fryer Pork Taquitos with you.
This couldn’t be easier and makes a great family weeknight meal or you can freeze them for later.
You might remember my posts showing you How to Make Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker and How to Make Pork Loin in the Slow Cooker as well as this Slow Cooker Pork Shoulder Roast Recipe.
Today I am excited to show you how easy it is to make pork taquitos in the air fryer!
You can also easily make these in a skillet or even bake them in the oven.
When I make these pork taquitos I like to top them with pico de gallo, red onion, cilantro and green onions.
As an Ohioan I love supporting the more than 3,500 family farms in Ohio that raise enough pork to feed about 25 million people. When you buy pork at the store or the farmers market, you are supporting Ohio farm families that produce that pork!
I love supporting my local farmers.
I like using ground pork about once a week in my meals whether I am making today’s pork taquitos, Easy Thai Pork Stir-Fry, Pork Burgers, Easy Pork Chili these Pork Meatballs or this Instant Pot Pork Chili Verde.
Ground pork is inexpensive, packed with protein and a nice lean option to cook with.
In today’s taquitos the pork works nicely because it mixes well with the warm spices and the flavors from the salsa.
Is Pork Nutritious For Me?
Pork is a good source of protein as well as rich in certain vitamins and minerals, like iron and zinc. It is a lean protein that is a great addition to meals.
It contains all nine essential amino acids necessary for your body’s growth and maintenance. In fact, meat is one of the most complete dietary sources of protein.
Eating 20 to 30 grams of protein per meal helps fuel your body and may help you feel fuller. That being said, every 3 ounces of pork is packed full of 22-24 grams of protein depending on the cut.

How to Make Air Fryer Taquitos
Heat the 2 Tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the garlic and onion and saute for 2 minutes. Add the ground pork and continue to cook until the pork is cooked through and browned.
Add the salsa, cumin, chili powder, oregano and 1/4 cup of cheese and stir well.
Set the tortillas on a cutting board.
Using a dry skillet or directly on the grates of a gas stove heat the tortillas until they are stoft and pliable. This helps the tortillas so they don’t tear when you are rolling them.
Spoon about 3-4 Tablespoons of the pork mixture into the center of the tortillas. Roll the taquitos and place on a plate seam side down.
Continue this with each tortillas until they are all rolled.
Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees for 5 minutes.
Spray the air fryer with avocado oil or non-stick spray. Use tons and place the taquitos seam sidee down in the air fryer making sure they don’t touch.
Air fry them at 350 degrees F for about 5-7 minutes or until the are the crispiness you desire.
Remove and serve with the remaining cheese, pico de gallo, red onion, cilantro and green onion.
How to Modify Air Fryer Pork Taquitos
- Beans: You can easily add beans to the pork mixture. I especially like black beans, red beans or pinto beans.
- Cheese: I added sharp cheddar cheese to my taquitos but any cheese is great. I especially like monterrey jack or pepper jack cheese.
- Vegetables: Diced vegetables are also a nice addition to taquitos. I will often add in bell pepper, diced tomatoes, poblanos or carrots when I make the pork mixture.
- Spices: The spice mixture adds nice flavor to the pork. You can also add other spices like chipotle chili powder, cayenne pepper or Italian seasoning.
- Salsa: When I make these I often just add whatever salsa I have on hand. I especially love adding a salsa verde. You can try my Easy Homemade Salsa Verde Recipe or Homemade Restaurant Style Salsa recipes as an addition.
