My family loves these easy sautéed mushrooms as a side to the holidays or a weeknight meal. We also make sautéed mushrooms for steak, like this Grilled Ribeye Steak, which is a nice pairing.
This recipe uses a few simple ingredients and they couldn’t be easier to make. You will love how fast you can get this healthy side dish on your table.

WHAT INGREDIENTS ARE IN THIS SAUTÉED MUSHROOMS?
MUSHROOMS: This recipe uses white mushrooms but you can use any mushroom you would like. If you use larger mushrooms you might want to slice them in half or chop them.
Some other mushrooms options are portobello, cremona, button or porcini.
GARLIC: Other than the mushrooms, garlic is the start of the show. It adds so much flavor to this dish and pair nicely with the mushrooms.
OLIVE OIL: You can use regular or extra virgin olive oil in this recipe. Sometimes when I am done I add an extra drizzle of extra virgin olive oil to finish the dish off.
PARSLEY: When I am done with side dishes I like to add a sprinkling of fresh parsley to brighten the dish up. You could also use fresh thyme with these mushrooms.

HOW TO COOK MUSHROOMS?
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the garlic and sauté for 1 minute stirring constantly.

Add the mushrooms to the pot. Do not stir the mushrooms.

Sear the mushrooms for around 2 to 3 minutes. Then continue to sauté, stirring occassionally, until the mushrooms start to soften and brown.

Add the salt and black pepper. Continue to sauté, tossing occasionally until the mushrooms turn a deep brown color and start to caramelize.
Remove from the heat and serve with fresh parsley.

ARE MUSHROOMS HEALTHY?
Yes, mushrooms are very healthy for you!
They are a great addition to your meals and something that you can feel good about eating. Mushrooms are rich in the B vitamins and help protect heart health.
Oyster and shiitake mushrooms have the most fiber. White mushrooms tend to have higher levels of vitamin D. In the end any mushroom you pick has health benefits!
