Grilled Spicy Turkey Burgers

Grilled Spicy Turkey Burgers - A Cedar Spoon

In the summer the grill is our best friend!

Ok, more like my husband’s best friend. Grilling is a quick and easy way to cook food.  These Grilled Spicy Turkey Burgers were a hit in our house and are easy to throw together. You can adjust depending on how many people you are serving and how big you want the burgers to be.  I used jalapeño and Serrano peppers from my garden which gave them a good, fresh kick. We melted cheese on them right at the end of grilling and made a side of sweet potato fries. Perfect summer meal!

First you will prep the vegetables by chopping them and placing them in a mixing bowl

Grilled Spicy Turkey Burgers recipe from A Cedar Spoon

Grilled Spicy Turkey Burgers

Serves: 3 medium burgers (2 large burgers and 1 slider for the baby in our case)

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cook time: depends on grill and preference, approximately 15 minutes

1 pound of ground turkey

1/3 of an onion, chopped

1/3 of a red bell pepper, seeds removed, chopped

1 jalapeño, stem and seeds removed, minced

1 Serrano pepper, stem and seeds removed, minced

5 cherry tomatoes, diced

Handful of fresh cilantro leaves, chopped

Pinch of ground red pepper

2 teaspoons salt

Chop onion, red bell pepper, tomato, jalapeño, cilantro leaves and Serrano pepper. Put in large mixing bowl and add crushed red pepper, cilantro and salt.

  1. Remove ground turkey from package and place in mixing bowl with the vegetables above.
  2. Mix the turkey burger mixture with clean hands and form patties.
  3. Grill turkey burgers, flipping every 5 minutes until internal temperature is 180 degrees F (85 degrees C).
  4. Enjoy with a slice of cheese melted and a good beer.

We were drinking a Siren by North Peak Brewery to help wash down that spice.

So yummy…

I once bought a burger from a eatery several weeks ago and I didn't like the quality. I even decide I won't be buying for a well. But now, I guess I can actually try my hands on it right at the comfort of my own home. Thanks for sharing this recipe with us!
