MUMMY HOT DOGS
Halloween is around the corner and it is time to think about all those fun and festive snacks and treats we can make.
Today’s Mummy Hot Dogs couldn’t be easier to make and they are so cute, right?
This recipe uses three simple ingredients: hot dogs, puff pastry and egg wash. If you want to add eyes to your mummy dogs then you will also need mayonnaise, mustard or candy eyes.
These are always a hit in my house in the fall whether it is Halloween or not. If you are having a get together this year for Halloween I suggest you add these to the menu!
HOW DO YOU HAVE MAKE THESE MUMMY HOT DOGS?
Heat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Using a sharp knife cut each pastry sheet into 10 strips. Use a large cutting board to assemble the mummy hot dogs.
Wrap 4 or 5 pieces of the puff pastry strips around each hot dog like bandages and place on a non-stick baking sheet.
Brush each mummy hot dog with the egg wash on all sides.
Bake the mummy hot dogs for 10-13 minutes or until the dough around the hot dog is just turning golden brown.
Remove from the mummy hot dogs from the oven.
To create the eyes put a two small dollops of mayonaise on the mummy dogs followed by black seeds on top or you can using mayonnaise and black seeds or you can create eyes using mustard.
