Thanksgiving is just around the corner and today I am sharing with you my Sausage Goat Cheese and Sun-dried Tomato Tuscan Stuffing. I recently had the opportunity to create this recipe for Jones Dairy Farm to include on their new stuffing website – stuffingandmore.com.  A Thanksgiving meal isn’t complete without stuffing and the stuffingandmore.com has more than 25 delicious, creative recipe ideas help you out.

My Sausage Goat Cheese and Sun-dried Tomato Tuscan Stuffing is made with bread, Jones Dairy Farm All Natural Pork Sausage, sun-dried tomatoes, vegetables, herbs, chicken broth and goat cheese.  When I first started developing this recipe I wasn’t sure how sun-dried tomatoes, sausage and goat cheese would pair up in a stuffing, but they are perfect together.

When making stuffing there are some important things to keep in mind:

1) Day old bread is best: whether you buy day old bread from the store or let the bread sit overnight with a towel over it, day old bread is best. You want it to be a bit hard so it doesn’t get too mushy and soggy with the ingredients added in.

2) Flavor test: test your stuffing if you are baking it in the oven so you can determine if it needs additional herbs or baking time.

3) Mushy test: you don’t want your stuffing to be overly mushy.  I like to be safe and air on the side of less chicken broth when I first start cooking the stuffing and then if I need to add a bit more further into the cooking process I will.

Sausage Goat Cheese and Sun-dried Tomato Tuscan Stuffing is savory and offers a creative twist on traditional stuffing. Head over to stuffingandmore.com to get the recipe. While on the site, don’t forget to watch recipe demonstrations from Philip Jones, 6th generation president and CEO of Jones Dairy Farm, and take the Stuffing vs. Dressing poll.

Now that is a stuffing! I admit that stuffing has never been my favorite part of Thanksgiving but this is totally a game changer.
