Cranberry Pear Orange Smoothie is a tart, sweet, nutritious smoothie and a great way to use up leftover cranberries. This smoothie also packs a lot of health benefits: antioxidants, fiber and vitamin C.
Last week I shared a recipe for Cranberry Orange Bread.
After making that loaf of bread I had leftover fresh cranberries to use. I hate letting anything go to waste so I was trying to find a way to use them up and smoothie popped into my head. Smoothies are a great way to use up leftover fruit and vegetables because you don’t need a lot of them but can pair small amounts to create a nutritious start to your day or snack.
Cranberry Pear Orange Smoothie is a good way to start your day because it has fiber from the pear, vitamin C from the orange and antioxidants from the cranberries. I can’t help but love that bright, bold color that the cranberries give it.
When I first made this smoothie it was a bit tart for my liking because of the cranberries so I added 1 teaspoon of honey. I would use the honey to your taste and add more or less depending on how tart you like your smoothie.

Throw a few other nutritious things in this smoothie like:
- A handful of fresh spinach
- A frozen or fresh banana
- A few frozen strawberries, blueberries, mango or pineapple
- 1 teaspoon of chia seeds
- Agave nectar instead of the honey

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup fresh cranberries, frozen or refrigerated work great
- 1 pear, core removed, chopped
- 1 small orange (you can use a cutie or a small orange)
- 1/2 cup low fat plain yogurt (you can substitute greek yogurt)
- 1 teaspoon honey (more of less to taste)
Instructions
- Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Pour in a glass and enjoy.
Notes
You can use fresh cranberries that are frozen or from the refrigerator. Frozen cranberries work great because it adds a thicker texture. [br]Use more or less honey to taste. This smoothie can be a bit tart from the cranberries so you have to make sure you use enough honey to take the bite off of the smoothie.
