EASY CANDIED WALNUTS

I hope you all had a nice and relaxing Thanksgiving.

I can’t believe we are now approaching Christmas and the holiday season. As we get closer many of you might be looking for snack or appetizer recipes or maybe something edible you can gift to family and friends. This recipe for Easy Candied Walnuts is a nice one for just that!

You can make this recipe with just a few simple ingredients. I love making a double or triple batch so I can gift some but also keep some for myself. These walnuts work great on salads, as a snack or as I mentioned a gift.

Walnuts are a very healthy food and something I try to incorporate into my diet. If you like walnuts try this recipe for How to Make a Cheese Ball which uses walnuts to coat the outside of the cheese ball, or these Brussels Sprouts with Cranberries that uses walnuts.

I also love using walnuts in my oatmeal like in this Overnight Banana Bread Oatmeal

WHAT INGREDIENTS ARE IN THESE GLAZED WALNUTS?

WALNUTS: Walnuts are the star of the show. They are a healthy nut to eat and great for heart and brain health.

If you don’t have walnuts or don’t like them you can easily sub in a different nut in the place of them.

SUGAR: For this recipe I used sugar but you can also use brown sugar if you would prefer.

VANILLA: Vanilla adds some extra flavor to these walnuts. If you don’t have it on hand you can skip it but I suggest trying to use it.

CINNAMON: Cinnamon also adds some nice spice and has health benefits as well.

EGG WHITE: The egg white helps to bind everything together on the walnuts.

Serve after the walnuts have cooled as a snack or on a salad.

HOW DO YOU SERVE THESE SUGARED WALNUTS?

SALADS: These candied walnuts work so great on salads. I love them on a spinach salad or a candied walnut salad. I also think they would be a nice addition in this Shaved Brussels Sprout Salad

SNACKING: I love snacking on nuts throughout the week when I get hungry. Walnuts are very healthy for you and these candied walnuts would be a nice treat to have on hand.

GIFTS: When the holidays roll around these make a really nice gift. You can put them in a mason jar or a nice holiday bag.

SNACK MIX: At holiday gatherings it is nice to have snack mixes around for guests to snack on. This would work great in this Sweet & Salty Nut Mix or this Nuts n’ Bolts snack mix.
