Ham Cheese and Cranberry Rollups are a festive appetizer for the holidays featuring ham, cheese and cranberry sauce rolled and baked in a crescent roll. These warm, savory rollups will be a big hit at your next get together!
HAM CHEESE AND CRANBERRY ROLLUPS
The holidays are all about get togethers that involve a spread of colorful and most importantly, delicious appetizers. These Ham Cheese and Cranberry Rollups would be a nice addition to the table alongside these Mediterranean Antipasto Skewers and maybe a Warm Cranberry Brie Naan.
Have you ever noticed that the appetizer table always has a crowd of people gathered around it? I am one of those that loves to chat, snack on finger foods and dips, and sip on a warm cup of cider. When I plan out a menu for parties I like to make sure I have a balance of sweet and savory foods. Today’s rollups fall into both categories by pairing the salty ham and cheese with the sweet cranberry sauce.
Ham Cheese and Cranberry Rollups feature Kretschmar Off The Bone Ham
along with cheddar and mozzarella cheese and a sweet spread of cranberry sauce wrapped in a warm, fluffy crescent roll. After they come out of the oven I like to top mine with poppy seeds, fresh parsley and another drizzle of cranberry sauce.
I am excited to be partnering with Kretschmar again to share these Ham Cheese and Cranberry Rollups with you for the holiday season. You can never have too many easy, festive appetizers this time of year.
As you might remember from last month’s recipe for Mediterranean Antipasto Skewers, Kretschmar provides premium deli meats and cheeses in Cleveland, Ohio. You can find their meats and cheeses at your local Marc’s grocery store deli counter. Kretschmar has a long history in Cleveland and has been serving up quality meats and cheeses since 1881. I love supporting local brands like this!
Let’s talk for a minute about their delicious Off The Bone Ham.
Their ham is MSG-free and gluten-free, with no fillers, and uses only the finest ingredients for the highest quality cuts of meats. The ham is hand-trimmed using the finest cuts and they are delicately sliced from the leanest, most tender cuts, and hand-selected to provide that delicious bone-in flavor. Their deli meats are such a versatile and easy go-to for any holiday meal or snack solution, saving you time in the kitchen so you can enjoy extra time with your family.
I like buying a big package of their Off The Bone Ham and using it in a couple of different ways. For example, you can make these rollups and then add the ham to your Mediterranean Antipasto Skewers alongside the turkey. You can also just roll the ham up and put toothpicks in it for those that want to eat the ham on its own. It is nice to give your guests options!
As you start to think about your parties, get togethers and family meals over the next month you need to keep this easy appetizer in your back pocket. These rollups are always a crowd pleaser!
Ham Cheese and Cranberry Rollups
Ham Cheese and Cranberry Rollups are a festive appetizer for the holidays featuring ham, cheese and cranberry sauce rolled and baked in a crescent roll. These warm, savory rollups will be a big hit at your next get together!
Ingredients
- 1 tube crescent dough roll sheet
- 1/2 cup cranberry sauce, divided {you can use homemade or store bought}
- 1/2 pound h Kretschmar Off The Bone Ham, thinly sliced
- 5 slices cheddar cheese, thinly sliced
- 5 slices mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced
- Garnish with fresh parsley, extra cranberry sauce and poppy seeds
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9 x 13 baking dish with non-stick spray.
- Roll out your crescent dough on a large cutting board into a large rectangle {you are basically just unrolling the whole dough and instead of pulling the small triangles apart you will leave the sheet of dough in a large rectangle}.
- Use a brush or the back of a spoon to spread a thin layer of cranberry sauce on the dough. Top with the cheese, alternating between cheddar and mozzarella. Top with the ham.
- Begin with the long side of the dough and roll the dough. Close the edges together and put the seam down on the cutting board. Cut the ham rollup into 10 to 12 pieces depending on how large you want the rollups.
- Place the rollups in the baking dish making sure to leave a small amount of space between each so they can rise and get crispy.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Garnish with extra cranberry sauce, fresh parsley and poppy seeds.
Notes
Feel free to use whatever cheese you like. I have used swiss and sharp cheddar and like both of those too.
You can skip the cranberry sauce. Another option is to use jelly or jam instead.
