Strawberry Blueberry Lemonade Spritzer
You might not be able to tell by the crazy spring weather we are having but Memorial Day is fast approaching. Memorial Day for me is the kick off of the summer season and all things BBQ, grilling and backyard entertaining. When we moved to Cleveland, we were lucky to find a house with a beautiful backyard that we can enjoy during the warm months. It is the perfect place to entertain guests and this Strawberry Blueberry Lemonade Spritzer would be a typical drink I would serve.
Since I am currently pregnant I always make two pitchers, one as a cocktail with vodka and triple sec and one without the alcohol. It tastes wonderful either way! Who doesn’t love a refreshing, sweet lemonade with a little bubbles on a warm, summer day?

I especially love the colors of this drink and how festive they are. This Strawberry Blueberry Lemonade Spritzer would be a great addition to 4th of July parties too! When I make this drink I muddle half of the strawberries and a handful of mint leaves together creating a sweet, minty flavor for the lemonade. It kind of reminds me of a mojito but instead of the limes it uses fresh lemon juice. I always serve my cocktails and mocktails in mason jars when entertaining because I love the rustic feel they add to a party.
Once you are ready to serve your drinks you can garnish each mason jar with fresh strawberries, blueberries and mint leaves. Can’t you just picture yourself sipping one of these over Memorial Day weekend as the bright, crisp summer light shines down on you? I know I can!

When creating the Strawberry Blueberry Lemonade Spritzer I used Tate+Lyle® Organic Pure Cane Sugar to create a simple syrup that helps to add just the right amount of sweetness. I used the cane sugar and water and boiled it for a couple of minutes until the sugar dissolved to create a simple syrup.
If you aren’t familiar with Tate+Lyle® Organic Pure Cane Sugar, it is delicately grown in sun-kissed organic fields, and then the sugar is lightly refined, creating earth’s unmatched sweetener. It is perfect for sweetening your favorite recipes, tea or coffee with a subtle molasses flavor in the blonde-colored sugar crystals. They also have Tate+Lyle® Organic Turbinado Raw Pure Cane Sugar which is great to enjoy in baked goods. This lightly refined, golden brown sugar has a delicate molasses flavor and a rich aroma. Made from organically grown sugar cane, its distinctive crystals provide a superb added crunch.

My favorite thing about Tate+Lyle® Sugars is their thoughtful and inspiring choice of sugar. Not only are they certified organic, but also are Fairtrade certified, which means fair prices and opportunities for small-scale sugarcane farmers to invest in their communities for a sustainable future.
