INSTANT POT APPLESAUCE
Every fall we go apple picking. It is one of my favorite things to do when the weather starts to cool off and the leaves start changing.
My kids love climbing the trees, picking the apples and sometimes eating one or two along the way. Once we get home I always have a huge bag of apples.
Now of course my kids can snack on apples throughout the week but I am always looking for other ways to use the apples.
Todays Instant Pot Applesauce is a quick and easy recipe to use up those apples. I also like to make this Crockpot Applesauce, these Skillet Apples and these Apple Bars with Pumpkin Pie Spice Icing.
WHAT INGREDIENTS ARE IN PRESSURE COOKER APPLESAUCE?
This recipe uses a few simple ingredients.
APPLES: Apples are the star of the show in this applesauce recipe.
You can use your favorite otherwise the best apples for making applesauce are Fuji, Gala, Honeycrisp and Golden Delicious.
WATER: You will need to add some water to the instant pot in order to pressure cook the apples and create the applesauce.
LEMON JUICE: Lemon juice helps to add a slightly sweet flavor and also adds some acidity to the applesauce. It also helps to keep the apples from browning.
CINNAMON: Cinnamon adds a great addition to applesauce. It adds warmth and flavor.
If you want to add more I suggest waiting until the end and tasting the applesauce before adding more.
