The slow cooker is a great way to make chili. My husband and I really liked this recipe. I followed the advice of other posters and drained the majority of the liquid from the beans, as we like thicker chili.

I noticed in one of the comments a woman mentioned she had done homemade apple butter (I think she made it in the crock pot). I would love to get a recipe for that. I spent many summers`as a child back in the 60's on my grandma's farm and grew up loving homemade applesauce and butter. These apple recipes are bring back a flood of sweet memories.
