Top 10 Reader Favorites From 2015
2015 has been a wonderful year for A Cedar Spoon thanks to all of you!
A year ago my family moved from Chicago to Cleveland and big changes happened in our household. I decided not to go back to work full time when we moved and focus on my blog and being home with my kids instead. I must admit it was scary to leave a full time job, with a steady paycheck but I have never been happier and don’t regret it for one second.
I now work full time creating recipes for you guys and I love it! This blog started as a place where I could share recipes with my close family and friends and has grew to so, so much more.
A Cedar Spoon is not only my job but is my passion. I truly enjoy “going” to work every day and can say that I somehow stumbled into something that I never thought was possible. Cooking has always been a passion of mine, since the time I was little and making hummus, tabbouleh and kibbeh with my grandma and mom. My interests in life always gravitated towards food, trying new recipes, traveling around the world to try other cultures cuisines and sharing that with family and friends. Now I get to share it with not only my close family and friends, but the world. To say I am blessed is an understatement.
Thank you for making 2015 the best year yet! I am so excited to see what 2016 has in store and want to continue to create the kind of recipes you can easily put on your table for your family that are healthy with the occasional sweet treat.
Please send me messages, emails, tweets, Facebook messages with the recipes you want in 2016. I love hearing your ideas and cooking up the type of recipes you guys enjoy. Have a safe and happy new year!
And now lets dig into the Top 10 Reader Favorites from 2015 starting with Number Ten:
Slow Cooker 4 Ingredient Shredded Beef Tacos
Just 4 ingredients make these Slow Cooker 4 Ingredient Shredded Beef Tacos into a delicious, easy meal and perfect for taco Tuesday. I like using this shredded beef for all kids of things from salads, to quesadillas, to burritos.
Number Nine: Vegetarian Breakfast Egg Muffins
Start your morning off with these Vegetarian Breakfast Egg Muffins packed full of eggs, vegetables and cheese. These are a great make ahead breakfast that you can even freeze for busy mornings! Check out this Southwestern Taco Egg Muffin too.
Number Eight: Warm Brie Cranberry Naan
I just posted this recipe last week and it went crazy on social media. I totally get it though because the flavor in this Warm Brie Cranberry Naan are so perfect for the holidays and this appetizer is really easy to make. When I made this I couldn’t stop eating it….
Number Seven: 18 Delicious Pasta Salads for Summer
Another round-up I did for you guys was this 18 Delicious Pasta Salads for Summer. Honestly it was kind of a selfish post because I just love pasta salads and wanted a list on hand of salads I hoped to make. When we go to picnics and BBQs I love bringing pasta salads because they are easy and I know I will at least be adding some vegetables to the table!
Number Six: Healthy Fruit Yogurt Dip
We love this Healthy Fruit Yogurt Dip for snacking at my house alongside some freshly cut fruit. You couldn’t make an easier dip–this uses Greek yogurt, peanut butter {or your favorite nut butter} and honey. Healthy, easy and SO tasty.
Number Five: 20 Easy One Pot Meals
I did a round-up of some of my favorite 20 Easy One Pot Meals. One pot meals are the best because you are only using one pot, meaning less dishes and they are usually pretty easy to make. I hope to bring you guys more exciting one pot meals in 2016!
Number Four: Simple Massaged Kale Salad with Lemon Dressing
I love kale in salads and soups. This Simple Massaged Kale Salad with Lemon Dressing is a fun way to get your hands dirty by massaging your kale. It helps to create a softer texture to your kale and the lemon, garlic, olive oil and parmesan cheese add great flavor. Perfect for lunches {try adding tofu, chicken or chickpeas} or a side salad to your dinner.
Number Three: Greek Orzo Pasta Salad
A few years ago I made a Summer Orzo Pasta Salad and shared it with all of you and that has continually been one of my top recipes. I knew I had to create a Greek version because Greek salads are my favorite. Add this to your list to make this summer. It also makes a great dish to bring to BBQs and picnics!
Number Two: Simple Garlic Parmesan Green Beans
I can tell a lot of my readers are like me and like simple dishes. With all of the busy lives we lead it is nice to have easy recipes that aren’t lacking in flavor. These Simple Garlic Parmesan Green Beans are ready in no time at all and will help change up your side dish routine. My family goes crazy for these!
And for Number One: 15 Minute Shrimp Linguine with Lemon Garlic Butter Sauce
I agree with all of you! This dish is one of my favorites and is simple to make. If you like shrimp you have to try this one. Shrimp are sautéed in a lemon garlic butter sauce with white wine and garlic and then placed over a bed of linguine and sprinkled with freshly chopped parsley. So easy, yet so elegant.
Thanks again guys for a great year and cheers to the all good things in 2016!
