Did you know you can make sweet recipes in the air fryer just like you make those seafood, chicken or vegetable recipes? The air fryer is such a versatile kitchen gadget and is great making today’s easy breakfast idea for Air Fryer French Toast Sticks.

I just love air fryer recipes for a few reasons: little clean-up, healthier than frying food and the quick cook-time. This is such an easy recipe that you can make ahead of time and freeze for later or make on a weekend morning for your kids.

So many of you love this Air Fryer Cod, Air Fryer Mediterranean Chicken Thighs and these Air Fryer Twice Baked Potatoes.

But you guys need to try using your air fryer to make these Air Fryer Donut Holes or today’s Air Fryer French Toast. My whole family goes crazy for these french toast sticks but you could also use this recipe with regular french toast by keeping the bread whole instead of slicing it.

See full list of simple ingredients below in recipe card with exact measurements.

  • Bread: You can use any bread slices you have on hand. I tend to like thicker Texas toast or french bread.
  • Eggs: The egg helps to make the batter that the french toast sticks are coated in to create the delicious crust.
  • Heavy Cream: The cream in the milk mixture gives the french toast extra sweetness. You can sub cream for milk. I don’t suggest skim milk though, as that is very watery.
  • Brown Sugar: The brown sugar helps to sweeten the french toast mixture. You could sub in white sugar.

Step 3: Air Fry: Spray the air fryer basket with non stick cooking spray. Place the dipped French toast in the basket, making sure they do not touch. Place the basket in the air fryer and set at 375° and fry for 3 minutes. Flip the toast over and spray with nonstick cooking spray.

Fry an additional 3 minutes. Repeat until all the pieces have been fried. Serve immediately the French toast sticks with fresh berries and maple syrup.

Recipe Tips

How do I prevent the french toast sticks from sticking?

Spray the air fryer pan before placing the french toast stick in. Then spray the french toast sticks when you flip them over. This prevents them from sticking.

How do I ensure the french toast sticks cook evenly?

Make sure to give the french toast sticks space and now overcrowd them. This helps them cook evenly.
