BANANA CRUNCH POPSICLE

Summer is my house is all about keeping busy, getting our energy out and enjoying every bit of the warm weather we can. My kids do some camps but are home with me a lot of the time. I am always looking for ways to occupy them, keep them engaged and get their energy out.

Today I’m partnering with GoNoodle to talk to you about one of my favorite ways to get my kids active in the summer months and making healthy snacks! If you have children you will love the GoNoodle app and their youtube videos to get your kids active this summer. Today’s Banana Crunch Popsicle recipe is a recipe from the GoNoodle app’s “how to” section where they show kids how to make easy recipes. My kids loved helping me put them together.

Kids playing GoNoodle

GoNoodle is a free app withs 100s of fun movement and mindfulness videos for kids!  This GoNoodle for Small Foot is one of my kids new favorites to dance to.

My kids discovered GoNoodle at school and we are so glad they did! They often will ask me to turn on GoNoodle so they can dance and get their energy out. It is especially a favorite when I am making dinner and I know they need to be occupied.

The best thing is that you can move in the comfort of your home because GoNoodle is free and available in lots of places (Web, iOS app, Android App, Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV).

What Can You Do on the GoNoodle app?

The app features dance-alongs, yoga videos, mindfulness activities, and brand new “How To” videos for kids. It is the perfect way to occupy the kids in the summer when they need something fun to do or you need to get some chores done around the house.  Everyday this summer, your kids can learn “how to” do fun activities and tricks like making snacks, new crafts, learning to beatbox, making slime, and more. My kids especially loved learning to beatbox and how to make slime.  Whether kids need a daily activity, something to do when the weather is bad, or a way to fill the long summer evenings, GoNoodle GoSummer is sure to keep your kids busy (and learning new tricks), all summer long!

One of the new GoNoodle how-to videos inspired my family to make these Banana Crunch Popsicles, and they are the perfect warm weather snack that is also healthy!

Now lets talk about these Banana Crunch Popsicles for a minute. They are such a fun snack to have on hand in the freezer in the warm months. I love making them ahead of time when I know we are going to be having a play date with other kids at our house. They are so easy to make and you can engage your kids to make them which is extra fun. My kids had a blast creating these!

WHAT INGREDIENTS DO I NEED FOR BANANA POPSICLES?

YOGURT: You can use any flavor of yogurt or even use Greek yogurt for extra protein. I used a strawberry Greek yogurt on my popsicles.

BANANAS: You will need 4 bananas and you will cut them in half. Of course you can also double the recipe and freeze more for later.

CEREAL: After coating your bananas with yogurt you will roll each banana in cereal. You can pick any cereal you want. Kids of course love the fruity cereals but you can also do granola or something more simple.

HOW CAN I MODIFY THESE BANANA POPSICLES?

  • Try using your favorite yogurt from Greek yogurt to plain yogurt to a flavored yogurt.
  • Instead of yogurt you can use chocolate. Start by melting the chocolate in a bowl and dipping the bananas in the chocolate followed by the cereal.
  • Mix up the topping for the banana popsicle. Some of our favorites are chopped up nuts like peanuts or almonds, granola or sprinkles.
