PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE

Confession time. Pumpkin Spice Lattes make me extra happy this time of year.

I am guilty of getting excited when fall rolls around and I can order one of those warm, pumpkin spiced drinks.

There are just some things that excite you with the change of seasons. The leaves changing colors, the brisk fall air, baked apples, apple cider doughnuts and yes, these Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

Today’s Easy Pumpkin Spice Latte lives up to it’s name.

It is easy and only uses 6 ingredients that you probably have in your this time of year.

Lets run over the ingredients so you can see how easy this is: coffee, pumpkin puree, milk {or milk alternative}, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla extract and maple syrup {or natural sweetener like honey}.

Once you gather your ingredients you are just putting them in a blender and blending everything together.

As you see in the photos I was a bad girl and added some whip cream to my pumpkin spice latte. That is optional of course.

The nice thing about making drinks like this Pumpkin Spice Latte or a Homemade Chai Latte at home is you are controlling the ingredients and it is cheaper.

Those drinks at the coffee shops can really add up and with one can of pumpkin puree you can get a lot of pumpkin spice lattes out of it.

You can even make your own pumpkin puree.

Try using this Instant Pot Pumpkin Puree recipe or this Slow Cooker Pumpkin Puree recipe, both are very easy!

I love to sit down in the afternoon with a cup of pumpkin spice latte and a slice of this Pumpkin Bread.

Unfortunately this year fall has been shorter than usual. We went from the hot summer temperatures to bone chilling cold temperatures in one month.

I keep longing for more of those 60 degree fall days but it won’t stop me from sipping on my favorite drink!

Pumpkin Spice Latte Whip Cream

MODIFICATIONS FOR THIS PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE:

  • You will notice that this has milk in it. You can use whatever milk you like or use a milk alternative. I have used coconut and almond milk and both worked great.

  • If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice on hand you can make your own and then use that for your homemade pumpkin spice lattes. To make it mix together 4 teaspoons cinnamon, 2 teaspoons ginger, 1 teaspoon cloves and 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg. As you will see in the recipe you only use 1/2 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice so you can save the rest for another day.

  • When it comes to the sweetener, I like to use maple syrup but honey or agave works great as well.

If you want your drink warmer heat it in a medium saucepan after blending it on the stove on medium heat.
I like to taste my pumpkin pie spice latte after blending everything to see if I want to add more pumpkin pie spice or sweetener.
