This Easy Blue Cheese Burger recipe is the perfect easy weeknight burger. An angus beef burger is quickly grilled or cooked in a skillet and topped with rich, creamy blue cheese, sliced red onion and arugula.

When I think of an easy summer meal I often think of burgers. My kids all love them, they are easy to make and protein packed.
You might remember last month when I shared this Easy Avocado Burger – which used a creamy guacamole to top your favorite burger. And then a mouthwatering Greek Burger Recipe – which topped the burger with a creamy tzatziki sauce.
The burgers do not use preservatives or additives which is a great thing!
If you like convenience on those busy nights, burgers are for you. These burgers are juicy, flavorful and perfect to add all your favorite toppings like creamy blue cheese.
I don’t know about you but I think that blue cheese and beef are the perfect match.
Ingredients You’ll Need
Here’s an overview of the simple ingredients we’re using. Jump to the recipe card below for exact ingredient amounts and printable instructions.
- Burgers: You can use any burger you like. When it comes to hamburgers I like using an 80/20.
- Vegetables: Red onion and is a great addition to this burger alongside the arugula and the blue cheese sauce.
- Greens: Arugula pairs nicely with the burger, onion and blue cheese. The peppery taste is a great pairing.
- Blue Cheese Sauce: The blue cheese sauce is made of heavy cream, crumbled blue cheese, Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder. This sauce is what takes this burger to the next level!
How do you Make Blue Cheese Burgers
Step 1: Cook Burgers: Heat the grill to medium-high heat. Cook your Angus BUBBA burgers on the grill straight from the freezer (no thawing required).
Grill for 5-6 minutes on each side. When the juices begin to rise to the top of the burger it is time to flip them. Burgers are done when they reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees F.
Step 2: Make Blue Cheese Sauce: Heat a medium sized pot over medium heat. Add the cream and simmer on medium-low for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring constantly.
Add half of the blue cheese and continue to stir and break apart the blue cheese. Slowly whisk in the Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for another 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in the remaining blue cheese and slowly continue to stir. Remove from the heat. You want the second half of the blue cheese to still be chunky in the sauce. Place the blue cheese sauce in a serving bowl.
Step 3: Assemble the Burger: Set out 4 buns and top with arugula, red onion, and then the burgers. Top the burger with the blue cheese sauce or you can skip the sauce and just top the burger with crumbled blue cheese. Enjoy!
Storage Tips
Store the burgers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. To reheat you can quickly heat in a skillet or in the microwave.
