You guys probably know my love for all types of Greek recipes and ingredients.

I excited to be partnering today with BUBBA burger to bring you another delicious way to take your burgers to the next level.

You might remember last month when I shared this Easy Avocado Burger – which used a creamy guacamole to top your favorite BUBBA Burger.

Today we are taking your favorite creamy tzatziki and topping that on the burger with your other favorite burger toppings.

I like to serve this burger with a quick Greek salad on the side like this Village Greek Salad or this Greek Chickpea Salad

I think that tzatziki and beef are just made to go together – the creamy, cool yogurt reminds me of my childhood. We always ate kibbeh or beef kofta kebabs and topped it with yogurt which reminds me of tzatziki.

Here’s an overview of the simple ingredients we’re using. Jump to the recipe card below for exact ingredient amounts and printable instructions.

  • Angus Burgers: This recipe uses Bubba burgers but you can use your favorite burger.
  • Vegetables: The vegetables that I added to this Greek Burger is red onion and tomato.
  • Greens: Arugula is added to the burger for a peppery flavor. You also could sub in spinach or kale.
  • Cheese: Creamy feta cheese is topped on the Greek burgers.
  • Tzatziki: Creamy, cool tzatziki is added to the burger and gives it great flavor. It mixes together Greek yogurt, garlic, olive oil, red wine vinegar, dill and cucumber.

How do you Make a Greek Burger?

For the Grill:

Heat the grill to medium-high heat. Cook your burgers on the grill straight from the freezer (no thawing required). Grill for 5-6 minutes on each side.

When the juices begin to rise to the top of the burger it is time to flip them. Burgers are done when they reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees F.

For the Tzatziki Sauce:

While the grill is heating make the Tzatziki sauce by combining the Greek yogurt, garlic, extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, dill, cucumber salt and pepper and stir well to combine. Put in a covered container and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Assemble the Burgers:

Set out 4 buns and top with lettuce, onion and then the burgers.

Top the burger with a sprinkling of feta cheese and a dollop of tzatziki sauce. Enjoy!

Recipe FAQ

What is the best type of burger to use?

I like to use ground beef that’s 80/20 for juicy burgers (80% lean, 20% fat) or ground lamb with similar fat content. Leaner meats (like turkey or chicken) can dry out without added moisture.

What temperature should my burgers be?

Check your burgers with a meat thermometer and the internal temperature should be: Beef/lamb: 160°F (medium); Chicken/turkey: 165°F.

How do I ensure the juiciest burgers?

Make sure to rest the burgers after cooking for a few minutes to lock in the juices.
