Today’s Easy Avocado Burger recipe is one I make a lot – they are so good!

It is so simple to make during the week or for that special backyard get-together.

Burgers are a great way to bring protein into your family meals and it is always fun to put a new twist on a classic burger.

They are also so convenient. I keep a couple of boxes in my freezer for those busy nights. You can pull the frozen burgers out and put them straight on the grill or a skillet and they are ready in 10 minutes! They are a life-saver on those nights you are scrambling to get dinner on the table.

I just love the pairing of creamy guacamole with a juicy hamburger. You can make my easy homemade guacamole recipe below or try something a little different like this Avocado Tomatillo Salsa or Mango Black Bean Salsa

Easy Avocado Burger ingredients.

Recipe Ingredients

  • Beef: I used Original BUBBA beef burgers for my Avocado Burgers. They are gluten-free, use one ingredient and cook in under 10 minutes. Any of their burgers would match up well with the guacamole!
  • Guacamole: The guacamole is the star of the show aside from the burgers. I love creating a simple guacamole recipe using avocado, tomatoes, lime juice and salt. You can get even more adventurous and try this Spicy Guacamole or this Mango Guacamole. If guacamole isn’t your thing you can add sliced avocado to your burger instead.
  • Toppings:When I make these burgers I will often add red onion, lettuce, tomato and grilled or sautéed sweet peppers. The sky is the limit with toppings – add your favorites or just do the guacamole.

Please see the recipe card below for exact ingredient amounts and instructions.

Ways to Modify these Burgers

  • Cheese: I like to add cheese to my burgers from time to time. Some of my favorites are gouda, cheddar, pepper jack or mozzarella.
  • Vegetables: Vegetables make a nice addition to a burger. I especially love grilling vegetables to add like bell peppers, zucchini or poblano peppers.
  • Pickles: Pickles are always a good idea on a burger. You can add your favorite or make spicy pickles which would go nicely with the guacamole.
  • Spice: If you like some heat I suggest adding chopped or sliced jalapeños to your burger. You could also add sriracha, hot sauce or crushed red pepper to your guacamole.

The only thing missing is the homemade bun. I use the beautiful burger bun recipe from King Arthur Flour.

Julia I love your recipes. Do you think that I could cook the Bubba Burgers
    in the air fryer?

    1. Julia says:

Thank you! That is funny you ask- my mom and I were just talking about doing this!
Yes you can and here is how-
Place your hamburger patty into the basket/tray of your air fryer.
Cook your air fryer burger for 8-10 minutes at 350F. At the 5 minute mark (halfway through cooking your hamburger), flip the patty over to ensure that it will cook evenly.
Remove the hamburger from the air fryer basket and place onto bun.
      Enjoy!
