Yogurt is an everyday staple in my house.

My kids love it, I love and my husband loves it. We eat it for breakfast sometimes but it doesn’t stop there. Yogurt is versatile and can be used in many ways beyond your typical breakfast.

You can do anything from a typical yogurt, granola and berry breakfast to adding yogurt to a dessert or salad dressing or a pretty, delicious snack like today’s Frozen Yogurt Granola Bites.

These beautiful little frozen yogurt treats work great as a snack for the kids after school or even as breakfast.

My kids call them yogurt cupcakes and can’t get enough of them.

They consider these a treat–and will often eat one as dessert after dinner. I love that because I know that they are not only a delicious snack but also healthy.

Recipe Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Yogurt: This recipes uses 12 ounces of yogurt. I used strawberry but you can use your favorite flavor. You can use regular yogurt or Greek yogurt. Greek yogurt will be thicker and have more flavor along with more protein.
  • Granola: You will need 1 cup of granola. You can use store-bought or make your own using this Homemade Granola Recipe.
  • Honey: The honey helps sweeten the fruit bites.
  • Fruit: Add any berries or fruit you want to the top of the yogurt bites before freezing them. I like diced blackberries, strawberries, raspberries or bananas.

How to Make these Frozen Yogurt Bite

Step 1: Combine Honey and Granola: Line a 6 cup muffin tin with cupcake liners. Set aside. In a small bowl combine the honey and granola and stir until the granola is coated by the honey.

Step 2: Divide Yogurt: Spoon the granola into the cupcake liners using the spoon or your finger to press down the granola {you can to form a crust for the yogurt}. Divide the yogurt evenly over the granola. Add chopped fresh fruit of your choice.

Step 3: Freeze Bites: Put the muffin tin in the freeze for 5-6 hours, or overnight. When you are ready to eat the frozen yogurt bites remove from the freezer and let sit on the counter for 15 minutes to help them thaw slightly. Enjoy!

Ways to Modify these Yogurt Bites

Fruit: You can use a variety of fruit to add to the yogurt bites. Try strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, cherries, bananas or pomegranate seeds.

Yogurt: You can use Greek yogurt or plain yogurt. I like using a flavored yogurt like strawberry.

Sweetener: To sweeten the yogurt bites you can use agave, honey or maple syrup.

Storage Tips

Once these are frozen you can put them in an airtight container or ziplock bag and keep them in the freezer for up to 3 months. When you want a snack just grab one and go!

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces yogurt or Greek yogurt, flavor of your choice
  • 1 cup granola, store-bought or homemade
  • 3 teaspoons honey
  • Fresh fruit of your choice, like diced strawberries or raspberries

Instructions

  • Line a 6 cup muffin tin with cupcake liners. Set aside.
  • In a small bowl combine the honey and granola and stir until the granola is coated by the honey.
  • Spoon the granola into the cupcake liners using the spoon or your finger to press down the granola {you can to form a crust for the yogurt}.
  • Divide the yogurt evenly over the granola. Add chopped fresh fruit of your choice.
  • Put the muffin tin in the freeze for 5-6 hours, or overnight. When you are ready to eat the frozen yogurt bites remove from the freezer and let sit on the counter for 15 minutes to help them thaw slightly. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Feel free to use any flavor yogurt you would like along with any fresh fruit to go with it.
  • I have tried skipping the cupcake liners but I feel these come out of the muffin tin  much easier in the cupcake liner so I suggest using them.
