I grew up eating hummus at many of my family get togethers. When we ate it back when I was young it often was this Lebanese Hummus Recipe. As I got older hummus became more of a mainstream dip that people could buy at the store. I love seeing it used in so many ways from a dip, in Buddha Bowls, a spread on this Beef Shawarma, in salad dressings, on toast or even in pasta dishes

Today’s Layered Greek Dip takes hummus to a whole new level. It pairs it with a layer of Greek yogurt and then tops fresh vegetables, feta cheese and herbs on top.  I love serving this party dip with pita chips or pita bread or an array of fresh vegetables. If you like appetizer recipes you also might like this Hummus Platter, Lemon Whipped Feta Dip, Beef Taco Dip Recipe, or this Lebanese Hummus Recipe. I love taking hummus and dressing it up with colorful, fresh ingredients.

Recipe Ingredients

See full list of ingredients below in recipe card with exact measurements.

  • Greek Yogurt: I used plain Greek Yogurt in this recipe but you can also use plain yogurt in its place. I find Greek yogurt to add a nice tanginess and it is thicker which works nicely in dips like this. It also adds protein! I mix lemon juice and dill into the yogurt.
  • Hummus: Hummus is one of the stars of this dip. You can buy your favorite hummus at the store or make one of my recipes. I especially like this Lebanese Hummus Recipe, Lemon Hummus, Roasted Red Pepper Greek Yogurt Hummus or Spicy Hummus.
  • Vegetables: I like to load up the fresh vegetables in this dip making it healthy and colorful. I used roasted red peppers, tomatoes, cucumber and red onion. Other vegetables that would be nice are radish, celery, bell pepper and capers.
  • Feta Cheese: Feta cheese is always my favorite topping on hummus. You can use crumbled or buy the bigger block of feta and cut it into chunks.

Ways to Modify this Recipe

  • vegetables: add banana peppers, artichokes, pickled red onions or pickled vegetables.
  • olives: add a variety of olives from kalamata olives to these Lemon Marinated Olives.
  • herbs: fresh herbs take this dip to the next level. Try dill or fresh mint.
  • spice: for some heat add diced jalapeños or crushed red pepper.
