CREAMY DILL SAUCE RECIPE
I realized recently that I am lacking in the homemade salad dressing and sauce recipe section.
I make a lot of my own dressings and love that I can control the ingredients and flavors depending on my mood.
Another one I make a lot is this Tahini Yogurt Dressing which works great as a sauce or dressing too.
They are so simple to make too which is always a bonus in my book.
I often pull out my blender if I want a really smooth consistency to my dressing but all you really need is a bowl and a spoon or whisk.
Today’s Creamy Dill Sauce Recipe is one of my new favorite homemade salad dressing recipes.
I was buying a creamy dill dressing from the store and realized I could easily make it at home with 4 simple ingredients: Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, fresh dill and lemon juice.
I find that using Greek yogurt in dressing is not only healthier but helps to create a creamy texture.
Creamy Dill Sauce Recipe is also a perfect dip for your vegetables.
Before meals or as a snack I like to snack on cut up vegetables and having a dip on hand is always a plus.
There is something about the yogurt and dill combination that always gets me.
I also really like using this dressing in non-traditional ways, like drizzling it over this Mediterranean Salmon, Grilled Beef Kofta Kebabs or this Mediterranean Chicken.
I make my dressings in a blender to create a really smooth consistency but this can easily be made with a simple bowl and spoon or whisk.
Once my dressing is done I store it in an airtight mason jar in the fridge for easy access.
WHAT INGREDIENTS ARE IN THIS CREAMY DILL SAUCE RECIPE?
YOGURT: I used plain Greek Yogurt to add that creamy texture and tanginess. It also adds protein.
You could try regular yogurt as well but it might be a thinner sauce.
MAYONNAISE: The mayonnaise adds additional creaminess and flavor to the sauce.
DILL: When I make this I try to use freshly chopped dill but you can use dried if that is all you can find.
I always make the sauce and then add more dill if I feel like it needs more.
LEMON JUICE: The lemon juice adds a hint of sweetness to the sauce. It can also help thin out the sauce if it is too thick.
